Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, General Counsel and Secretary
Mr. Murray serves as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development with responsibility for development and implementation of the Company's strategy, including with respect to partnerships, product licensing, joint ventures and acquisitions. In addition, Mr. Murray continues in his oversight of the legal function as General Counsel and Secretary for Adherex. He has been General Counsel and Secretary for the Company since February 2003, a Vice President since September 2003, and Senior Vice President, Corporate Development since March 2007. Prior to joining Adherex, Mr. Murray was a Business Law Associate at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP in Toronto, specializing in private and public corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions as well as securities compliance and pharmaceutical regulatory matters. At Osler, Mr. Murray worked with a number of international pharmaceutical corporations, some of the largest securities dealers in North America, numerous early-stage biotechnology clients and also spent a secondment at the legal department of General Motors of Canada. Prior to joining Osler, Mr. Murray practiced as a pharmacist for more than seven years, including several retail pharmacy management positions. Mr. Murray holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from Dalhousie University and LLB and MBA degrees from the University of Ottawa.
