Adherex is focused on the discovery and development of novel therapeutics to address important unmet medical needs of cancer patients. Specifically, the Company is developing product candidates from its broad intellectual property portfolio of cell adhesion and cell signaling molecules, known as cadherins. Additionally, Adherex is developing oncology product candidates that either enhance the effectiveness of (chemoenhancers) or protect against the side effects of certain cancer drugs (chemoprotectants).
